Why it's so hard to write sci-fi, part #9,319

SEATTLE, WA--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 2, 2009 -- Global supercomputer leader Cray Inc. today announced the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP) in Calcutta, India has selected the Cray XT5(TM) supercomputer for its Theory Division. Scheduled for installation in summer of 2009, this will be the first Cray XT5 system in India. [...] SINP, an institute for basic research and training in physical and biophysical sciences, will use the Cray XT5 system to advance its work in quantum chromodynamics...
Quantum chromodynamics
Quantum chromodynamics (abbreviated as QCD) is a theory of the strong interaction (color force), a fundamental force describing the interactions of the quarks and gluons making up hadrons (such as the proton, neutron or pion). It is the study of the SU(3) Yang–Mills theory of color-charged fermions (the quarks). QCD is a quantum field theory of a special kind called a non-abelian gauge theory...
Now, I'm no intellectual slouch, but I have to confess that the rest of this article is the most unintelligible thing I've read since a college textbook on education theory many years ago. Still, who needs to make up pseudoscientific gobbledygook when you've got source material like this to work with?
"Captain! That last blast shook the gluon fields loose and they've clogged up the Dirac matrices! I cannah give you warp power until I backflush 'em!"
