Just a reminder that the weekly meeting of Were-Creatures Anonymous will be held at 7pm Central time this evening in the Community Room on the 13th floor of the Rampant Loon Media building. All Friends of Lon are invited to share fellowship, conversation, and non-sanguinary beverages.
WCA Meetings are open to the public, and while each weekly meeting typically has a featured speaker, all attendees are invited to participate in the often very lively commentary session that follows the presentation.
In answer to the many who have phoned or emailed to ask: yes, this week we will have the big screen switched-on and tuned to the Superbowl during the social hour. However, we fail to see how anyone can get excited over a game between a bunch of songbirds and factory workers. Where are the Bengals, the Jaguars, the Panthers, or the Lions this year? Most of all, what on Earth happened to our beloved Bears? Therefore, while we will watch the game with a certain dull sense of duty, we also confess to having a deep yearning nostalgia for the good old days of were-football, when the Monsters of the Midway truly lived up to their name and the game was played with no helmets and a live pig—or more often several pigs, depending on how hungry the teams were.
Kids these days; no respect for tradition. Sigh...
